Writer Mimi Towle put together <a href=\"http:\/\/digital.marinmagazine.com\/marinmagazine\/june_2013\/?pg=48&amp;pm=2&amp;u1=friend#pg48\" target=\"_blank\">a feature<\/a> on San Francisco restaurants that use the organic food of Marin County to create their menus, and I photographed both ends of the food chain. (<a href=\"http:\/\/digital.marinmagazine.com\/marinmagazine\/june_2013\/?pg=48&amp;pm=2&amp;u1=friend#pg48\" target=\"_blank\">Here&#8217;s the story<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The story featured four farms, four restaurants and four dishes. Today, I&#8217;m posting the shots from the restaurants. Later, I&#8217;ll follow up with those from the\u00a0 farms.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurants and their dishes are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>State Bird<\/strong> &#8212; Sweet corn and chive short stack (above), topped with melted Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam cheese. (I ate three of these after the shoot!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Slanted Door<\/strong> &#8212; Manila clams with green garlic puree (garlic from Allstar Organics).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Michael Mina San Francisco<\/strong> &#8212; Early Girl tomatoes and grilled octupus (tomatoes from County Line Harvest).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ristobar<\/strong> &#8212; Fresh summer salad (strawberries from Fresh Run Farm).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All the food was photographed on location.\u00a0<strong> I love shooting in restaurants<\/strong> because they &#8212; and their crews &#8212; <strong>remind me of my newspaper days<\/strong>.
