{"id":64,"date":"2009-05-22T15:05:42","date_gmt":"2009-05-22T22:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.timporter.com\/seconddraft\/?p=64"},"modified":"2009-05-22T15:14:31","modified_gmt":"2009-05-22T22:14:31","slug":"on-the-job-new-portfolio-cover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.timporter.com\/seconddraft\/?p=64","title":{"rendered":"On the Job: New Portfolio Cover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.photography.timporter.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.timporter.com\/images\/seconddraft\/LivebooksCover.jpg\" align=\"middle\" border=\"0\" height=\"228\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livebooks.com\/community\/events\/webinars\/mangin\/makingmoney\/index.php\">advice<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sportsshooter.com\/\">Sportsshooter.com<\/a> founder <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manginphotography.com\/\">Brad Mangin<\/a>, I&#8217;m changing the cover of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photography.timporter.com\/#a=0&amp;at=0&amp;mi=2&amp;pt=1&amp;pi=10000&amp;s=0&amp;p=1\">liveBooks portfolio<\/a> once a month. Above is the first one. The goal is to have a fresh cover that better reflects my range of skills than the the shot of the Golden Bridge at dawn that&#8217;s been up there for a year (fans of that photo can find it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photography.timporter.com\/#a=0&amp;at=0&amp;mi=2&amp;pt=1&amp;pi=10000&amp;s=0&amp;p=1\">here<\/a>), as well as put my contact information front and center.<\/p>\n<p>As always, each of these images has its own story.<\/p>\n<p>The twins are Noah and Logan Miller, author and actors who made the movie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.touchinghomemovie.com\/\">Touching Home<\/a> and wrote a book, You&#8217;re <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inorintheway.com\/\">Either In or In the Way<\/a>, about how the film came to be. I made the picture for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marinmagazine.com\/Marin-Magazine\/May-2009\/Field-of-Dreams\/\">Marin Magazine<\/a> in Nicasio in Marin County, the setting for both the book and the movie.<\/p>\n<p>The child wrapped in her mother&#8217;s hands is Maya. I also made this photo for Marin Magazine for a short Mother&#8217;s Day feature. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timporter.com\/seconddraft\/?p=27\">longer story<\/a> behind this picture involves me blowing the first image I tried to make with another child.<\/p>\n<p>The young woman in the upper left part of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timporter.com\/seconddraft\/?p=27\">series of portraits<\/a> I&#8217;m doing of people with red hair.
