I am a photographer and a journalist <\/strong>who lives in Marin County, California. I am available for corporate and editorial assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my personal work, <\/strong>I concentrate on documentary photography in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I photograph families who have returned to their home towns after living in the United States (working as an assistant to a Fulbright fellow who produced a documentary on the subject, Una Vida, Dos Paises)<\/em>, and single mothers and children associated with a now defunct children\u2019s shelter. Some of this work was shown in 2017 at the Centro Fotogr\u00e1fico Manuel \u00c1lvarez Bravo<\/a> in Oaxaca, as part of major exhibition honoring the late documentary photographer Mary Ellen Mark, my friend and mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Mexico and wherever I travel,<\/strong> I shoot on the street, working mainly with wide angle lenses. My philosophy is summarized in these words of Mary Ellen: \u201cPhotograph the world as it is. Nothing’s more interesting than reality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
