Scott Ryles
President and CEO

Scott is the president and CEO of Epoch Partners, which he founded in November 1999. He has 19 years of experience working on Wall Street, and prior to the formation of Epoch Partners, he was the global head of Merrill Lynch's Technology Investment Banking Group from 1996 to 1999. Under his leadership, the Merrill Lynch Technology Investment Banking Group grew from 10 to 90 bankers, from 14 to 45 research analysts, and to 12 sales professionals. During his tenure, the revenues of this group increased from less than $50 million to more than $300 million. During his career at Merrill Lynch, he managed the West Coast Investment Banking practice between 1989 and 1995. Scott has originated and executed private placements, IPOs, secondary offerings, convertible securities, and merger and acquisitions for companies in the financial services, utility, natural resources, media, and retailing industries, as well as for private and public technology companies in America, Europe, and Asia. The aggregate value of these transactions exceeds $100 billion.

Brad Peterson
Chief Information Officer/CTO

Brad joined Epoch Partners, Inc. in January 2000 as the chief information officer and chief technology officer. Brad and his team will be key in applying technology to improve the distribution of securities, trading, and liquidity in the equity markets and using the power of the Internet to create a new equity research destination for individual and institutional investors. As an information technology professional, Brad has experience both in the online financial services industry and the convergent telecommunications industry. His experience includes software development, systems integration and data center operations. Prior to Epoch Partners, Brad was senior vice president at Schwab Technology, where he was responsible for software development and systems integration in support of Schwab's Retail Business Enterprise. Prior to joining Schwab, Brad served as director of information technology at Pacific Bell Mobile Services and as vice president of Telecommunications at First Interstate. Brad earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a Master of Science degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Thomas C. Janson
Executive Vice President, Business Development and General Counsel

Tom joined Epoch as the Executive Vice President of Business Development and General Counsel in June 2000. He brings 19 years of experience as a corporate securities and merger and acquisition attorney. Prior to joining Epoch, he was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw a wide variety of merger and acquisition transactions. Tom was previously a partner with Skadden, Arps, Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, where he counseled corporate and investment banking clients on public and private offerings of equity, debt and convertible securities, merger & acquisition transactions, exchange offers and general corporate matters. Tom has executed more than $50 billion of transactions, with an emphasis on the media, entertainment and telecommunications industries.

Christine M. Aylward
Executive Vice President, Communications and Marketing

Christine is responsible for communication and marketing activities for Epoch. Prior to joining Epoch, Christine operated her own consulting firm, providing strategic consulting services to leading venture-backed start-up companies and working with senior management to develop and implement communications strategy and marketing programs. Previously, Christine was the Senior Vice President of Ogilvy Worldwide, where she managed operations for Ogilvy's San Francisco office and supervised key accounts. Before Ogilvy, Christine ran investor relations for a start-up biopharmaceutical company. Previously, she held senior domestic and global marketing, public relations and product communications roles with leading international companies, including Hoffmann-La Roche and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer.

Christopher S. Dean
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Christopher is responsible for Epoch's business development and strategic alliances initatives. Christopher brings to Epoch 15 years of general management, business development and marketing experience in the Internet, high-technology and management consulting industries. Prior to Epoch, he was the Executive Vice President, ASP Unit, of SmartAge.com (now B2SB Technologies). At SmartAge he completed and managed more than 40 strategic relationships with many major Internet portals and small business services providers, including AOL, AT&T, Excite, Go, Terra-Lycos. Prior to SmartAge Christopher, was a management consultant focused on business, market and product development areas, predominantly for Oracle Education and Adobe Systems. Previously, Christopher was a Senior Consultant at Regis McKenna Inc., a high-technology management consulting firm.
